Materials Story

3D Fabrics

Our last webinar, “The importance of implementing 3D Fabrics in our textile life,” got great feedback, so we decided to present another beautiful fabric selection following “active trends summer 22.”

In this newsletter you will be able to order physical samples and/or download the 3D files of the fabrics. Your friends at Reed Exhibitions have invested in digital technology from X-Rite/Pantone to provide you with digital (.axf) versions of fabrics.

Some “key action points” for your future collections regarding summer 22: consider shifting from conscious capsule to conscious core collection, which will put the product life cycle at the forefront of all design decisions. Lead with innovation before decoration. Design with minimal waste, ease of recycling, repair, reuse and resale in mind.

If possible, try to integrate 3D craftmanship into your design and development processes to reduce waste, save time, energy, lower your carbon footprint and enhance your workflow.

The education on the impacts of dyeing have affected “colors and color usage” for summer 22. There’s steady momentum with the growing influence of plant-based dyes and colors derived from the earth. Neutral shades, light greys on structured surfaces are uplifted by pink amethyst in the palette.

The exhibitors of FUNCTIONAL FABRIC FAIR powered by PERFORMANCE DAYS did send some magnificent fabric qualities:
